Lamps, just like clocks, are a necessity that are mostly overlooked. It is a part of your everyday life and you probably don't even notice its importance till its gone. This list of unusual and creative lamp designs include the cool and the odd, and they will not be overlooked for sure!

1. Milk Gone Bad Lamp:

A collection of 8 different lamps shaped like milk cartons. When it’s off, it looks like a plain milk carton but as soon as you turn it on nice colorful illustrations show up.

2. Coin Lamp:

The light can be turned on by a coin operated switch. Produced based on the concept of values and reward, this lamp was designed to highlight awareness of consumption.

3. Wet Lamp:

We have always been told, water and electricity don’t go together, unless you’re up to no good. This lamp though mixes the two together, creating a very intriguing piece. Made of a glass lamp with water-submerged light bulb at its center. The lamp turns on when the silver rod is slid into the water, the light becomes brighter as the rod submerges more. 4. Lamp Lamp:

It’s a lamp in the shape of… a lamp! The idea of this lamp comes from the fact that light bulbs, important as they are, they’re mostly forgotten. Our focus is always on the surrounding of the light bulb, the shade of the lamp, the looks and size of it… till the light bulb breaks. With this lamp, a commodity product such as the light bulb gets the attention it deserves. “LampLamp injects life and values into the commodity products we know and creates an affinity to a normally distant product.”

Colorful, playful and fun! These lamps can be shaped in anyway you want them to be. They come in four blocks that allow you to create your own light installation. The name says it all ! Sliced diagonally through the length, creating a floating water submerged appearance.

This lamp works a bit differently that others. It includes a projector that projects a 20 watts floodlight onto a polycarbonate reflector that redirects soft light.

A pop up book that pops out a lamp, now this is truly creative! The book is 16”x 12” so it’s quite big, open it up and a lamp will pop out and light up. How cool is that?!

A chandelier that is also a repository for drinking glasses. You can store the same or different kind of glasses. Clear or colored. Be as creative as you’d like! 11. Block Lamp:
A bulb that’s encased in two hand cast glass block which can only be placed on a tabletop or on the floor.

12. Take Lamp:
The Take lamp is put together by joining two symmetrical parts: two flat rectangular and two dimensional plates which each would make half a lamp. The internal pleating of the lampshade creates a beautiful play of light.
